Art Direction, Design, Illustration
Custom event creative for an exclusive pop-up supper club at the Setai Penthouse in NYC. The event promoted Tupperware's newest line of upscale cooking products.

The dinner was prepared by James Beard Award-Winner, Chef Michael White. Attendees included John Legend, Deborah Cox, Caroline Rhea, Ashanti, and NFL star Dhani Jones.

"Tuesday at the penthouse of the Setai Fifth Avenue, there were no silly games, no Swedish meatballs and no packets of money-saving recipes. In place was an impromptu performance by R&B singer Deborah Cox with John Legend on piano, a four-course meal by chef Michael White and a booklet with instructions on how to make veal with pancetta cream sauce."

  • MAKE CONGRESS WORK!
Received the 2012 AIGA Justified Award.

Designed a contemporary 32-page booklet for NO LABELS’ 12 Steps to “Make Congress Work.” This booklet’s design is unexpected and non-traditional.

Make Congress Work is No Labels’ first grassroots campaign to effect real change in our government at a time when our nation faces immense challenges. No Labels believes the biggest problem with Congress is the outdated rules; the 12 proposals are simple and straightforward to promote constructive discussion in Congress. They can be adopted when Congress convenes in January 2013.

This booklet was highlighted in a 6-minute segment on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

  • Tiny Dynamo
Developed title and cover design for first time author Marcella Rosen’s book, Tiny Dynamo. The book shines a light on how Israel, one of the world’s smallest countries, is also one of the most innovative. The large typography on the cover was intended to illustrate the strong impact Israel’s inventions have had on the modern world.

  • Living Without Doorknobs
Today's homeless could be your next-door neighbor, who is out of a job, and without a home.

For my multi-media thesis at University of Michigan, I reached out to Camp Take Notice, a homeless tent community in Ann Arbor. Through photo documentation and recording of the camp's bi-weekly meetings, I learned about the newly homeless inside the tents, especially Joseph Gill. Joe owned his own business for 20 years, but business fell through and he became bankrupt as a result of the recession.

Over the course of six months, I conducted twelve hour-long interview sessions with Joe, where I asked him about his struggles. These interviews became the basis for my audio piece, "Doorknobs."

Joe collaborated with me on another aspect of my project. I gave him a disposable camera and asked that he photograph his current living situation. I edited the photos and incorporated his handwritten captions onto the images. Because the photos have a natural narrative, I created a book, pairing the images with Joe's quotes from the interviews.

My goal is to create awareness of this major issue by sharing one individual's story.
